Offered here is a 1942 dated brass cartridge case for the American M4 Automatic Aircraft Cannon. Case measures 37x144R with headstamps '37MM MARKIIIA2 Lot-22905-6 CB&C.Co 1942' and a 1942 dated, fired M23A1 primer. Has coppered in places and with a couple of neck splits. Has seen better days but still an acceptable example of this scarce case type. A bit different in that it is marked '37MM MARKIIIA2' rather than the more usual '37MM MKIIIA2'.
Used by the USAF and Russian Air Force during WW2 in the Bell P-39 Airocobra and later the P-63 Kingcobra. Also in US Navy PT Boats as Deck Guns in the Far East. This example came from Russia via Poland.
Condition as per images above. Second class postage to a mainland UK postcode will be £3.50.
