Measuring about 45mm long, this is the front end of a WW1 German Model 1914 rifle grenade consisting of the Gewehr Granate Zunder 14 (Gew.Gr.Zdr14) nose percussion fuze screwed into the steel front part of the grenade. The front part of the fuze appears to be made out of zinc, the rear part, screwed in to the steel adapter ring, is brass. The nose plunger still move smoothly the internal spring being sound. The steel adapter ring still retains traces of olive green paint and the screw threads are good.
