Offered for sale here is an unfired, restored, 1938 dated British 3in 20cwt Anti-Aircraft Gun HE round. Brass case measures 76.2x420R and is headstamped '3in 20cwt V LOT116 RL CF 1938' with a faint HE stencil remaining on the case head. The No9 primer is dated 1943 and missing the primer cap and anvil etc. The case is in nice condition but does have a small crack above the rim which I've tried to show in the third image above. The case grips projectile tightly in the correct position. The HE projectile has been restored and repainted and has the original unfired copper driving band. The restoration was done before I got it and unfortunately has 3in Howr painted on the side of the projectile. I've always been meaning to re-paint it but have never found the time to do it. The fuze is a brass direct action percussion No 119B with good threads and easily screws in/out of the projectile. The fuze is marked '119B I H[O] Ltd 2AG ME 11/42' and comes with two reproduction paper labels made with the correct design and wording as the original labels. All parts are empty and inert. The round is heavy and stands nearly 29in tall. This is a nice round.
Condition as per images above. Courier to a mainland UK postcode will be £15.00.
