Most of the shrapnel shells from the Boer War are 15-pr and this item is much less common. It is in good condition with the No. 56 fuze and head both being removeable. The markings are clear with a date stamped on the side of the shell body: “28/9/1900” and a much smaller date on the other side of the shell body: “12/1901” with a ‘broad arrow’ above it.
There is a damage mark on the side of the body which was either from impact, or perhaps corrosion.
I’m selling a lot of my WW1 fuzes, a few grenades and other items. They are usually heavy, but ‘bulk’ buys will save on postage. One item will have p&p of £2.95 (Royal Mail), but a quantity of items up to 10Kg will cost £6.49; and up to 15Kg will cost £8.99. The latter two weights via “MyHermes”.
Will combine postage where possible for multiple purchases.
PLEASE NOTE: WILL SHIP TO UK ADDRESSES ONLY.
