Inert brass cased 2cm Oerlikon Cannon Model FF armour piercing incendiary (Phosphorus) or AP HE round. Brass case measures 20x80SR with headstamps 'AT Waffenampt 2d 40' and a struck primer. The armour piercing projectile is unfired and marked 'eel 261 / 44' just forward of the FES band. The projectile is empty and would have contained a service load of either a phosphorus core closed with an aluminium base plug to make an AP/I (Ph) round or had a HE filling closed by a BdZ1513 base fuse to make an AP/HE round. This projectile has neither base plug or base fuze, but threads are good if you have a spare of either plug or fuze.
This is a nice 2cm round, in good condition, of a cannon type which was used by all the German armed services prior to and during the early years of WW2.
Condition as per images above. Second class postage to a mainland UK postcode will be £3.50.
