Inert Japanese WW2 military (7.7mm) Type 92 Shiki Bakuretsu Ju Ma101 (explosive incendiary) Probably one of the rarest cartridges that could be offered for sale as 'inert' due to the complexity and risk involved in dismantling it. This high explosive loading was used by the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force for use in aircraft machineguns. The bullet contains a charge of RDX in the nose and behind this is a bursting charge of PETN. At the rear of the bullet is a sliding hammer which detonates the charges on impact. This bullet is capable of causing a 3" hole in an aircraft fuselage. Identified by the bullet's unique flattened tip and the dark purple casemouth seal. All explosive material has been removed.
