Offered for sale here is a fired, Austro-Hungarian HE round with a 'rebounding' projectile which was used in either the 3,7 cm Gebirgskanone M.13 Mountain Gun or the 3,7 cm Infanteriegeschütz M.15 Trench Gun. Brass case measures 37x57R with faint headstamps 'GR S 279 1917' and a rather scratched base. The rebounding HE projectile is the variant with a single 'wide' driving band rather than the two thin banded type. Projectle has been fired. The front tip with firing pin for the bopuncing charge easily unscrews and the front section which blows off on landing is still held firmly by the original press fit but is also quite easily removable with finger pressure. The steel septum between front end and main charge in the lower body is missing so the projectile is completely empty and inert. The case has a couple of minor neck splits (see 5th image above) but the case mouth is not stretched so the case firmly grips the projectile in the correct position i.e. about 5mm below the driving band (1st and 2nd image above). This is a nice little round.
Condition as per images above. Second Class postage to a mainland UK postcode will be £3.50.
